Fall hikes with the light filtering through the warmly colored leaves are beautiful.
Greenery
This week we’re bringing back the guest photo. This is a country road near Naruszewo, Poland, picture by a friend. I bumped the greens but it’s just enhancing what’s already there, the trees and undergrowth can only be described as lush.
snow bank
A very, very large one in the mountains near Rollins Pass. It’s doubtful this will melt before summer is over.
Mountain Trees
Mountain aspen grow tall and straight, pushing leaves out of the valley to the sun. This picture mixes strong vertical lines with just enough chaos to make it interesting.
Millpond Gate
This is an old millpond in what is now Rocky Mountains National Park. Finding old out of the way pieces of machinery like this is always exciting.
Twilight Overlook
This is a view from a few weeks ago on top of Ely’s Peak MN, looking East after sunset. This location becomes packed some times of year because of the large area that it overlooks, but also offers an old rail tunnel under the cliff, and access to some of the other hiking trails in the area.
Fall Glow
This is fall leaves along a hiking and bike path above the St Lewis River in Minnesota. This is a tone mapped HDR image that was taken hand held, which is why some of the edges are strangely colored, but it still conveys the amazing colors you get when hiking through forests in the fall.
