This is one of a number of Lesser Goldfinches that were raiding some wild sunflowers in the Colorado mountains. They were fearless, but moved so quickly it was difficult to get a good picture.
Backlight Blaze
The drama of fall colors can be appreciated even on a very small scale. The back lighting from the sun brings out the saturated colors without any need for editing.
Glow
This is another winter sunset from the shores of Lake Superior, featuring early winter ice sheets, and wet feet to get to the location this was taken from.
Faded Pansies
This photo is a bit unusual for me, because I edited it going for the sort of look you get in an old photo that has been left out in the sun too long.
New Flavors
These calves were curious how the bright colored objects that appeared on the fence tasted. They finally gave up after a lot of squeeky licking.
