Bullfrogs form a noisy part of the summer chorus, making it easy to tell if they are near. Despite their large size and large voice they are often hard to spot, since their colors match their surroundings well.

A blustery day often provides spectacular waves on Lake Superior, with strong East winds making the waves break impressively over the Superior Entry breakwater.
Lake Superior offers many types of shoreline. This particular rock shore is on Madeline Island, and provides wonderful spray from waves breaking.
Sunsets are almost always beautiful, but they are occasionally something really unusual. This view from Port Wing marina had wonderful high altitude clouds that stayed lit well after the sun was below the horizon.
Occasionally Lake Superior is calm enough on cold nights to freeze over a large area of the with thin ice. Once a breeze picks up it pushes the ice onto the shore making what look like piles of broken panes of glass.
Cloudscapes with sunset colors lighting them are always stunning, especially with water reflections involved at the same time.
